Save the Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails!
There are currently over 9100 men, women, children and elderly people in Israeli prisons over 7500 of them were abducted from their homes after 7 October 2023.
The Israeli occupation power has used the 7th of October as a pretext to take back all the rights of the prisoners they had won during their fierce decades-long struggle.
The prisons and detention centers’ conditions are appalling. The cells are extremely small and very crowded. . There are not enough blankets. There is no functioning sewage system. The food is little and has taste. They are very rarely allowed to leave their cells. They are denied their rights to education, medical care, and contact with their families and lawyers.
In the last five months, 13 prisoners have died in prisons due to lack of medical negligence or ill-treatment.
Administrative detention is used as a weapon against any criticism of the occupation, settlers’ violence, or the onslaught on the people in Gaza. The number of administrative detainees has increased as never before. The number of children and women has risen sharply. Hundreds of men and women from Gaza are being abducted to unknown locations. There are international reports that women have been raped and more than 27 men have been killed.
International law, international humanitarian law and international human rights laws are all being deliberately violated since the Occupying power is shielded from any accountability of punitive measures.
The European Alliance for Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners calls on all human rights organizations, humanitarian groups, people of conscious, all parliaments and political parties to stand up for these Palestinian prisoners.
We demand the release of all prisoners, detainees, and abducted people on both sides immediately and simultaneously. Human rights apply to all people, regardless of nationality or religion.
