On Monday, February 16, the German Red Cross in Berlin received a memorandum regarding the situation of Palestinian prisoners, presented by the European Coalition in partnership with sixty international organizations. A delegation representing groups such as the Medicals Against Nuclear War, the Palestinian community in Germany, the European Palestinian Women’s Union, and the “Eye 4 Palestine” organization delivered a document outlining demands directed at the International Red Cross.
These demands emphasize the need for the Red Cross to break its silence regarding Israel’s prevention of its access to Israeli prisons and the care of Palestinian prisoners, including female prisoners held in the occupation’s facilities. This initiative was launched by the European Alliance in Defence of to Palestinian Detainees , with approximately sixty international organizations signing the memorandum.
These organizations are working to convey their demands to Red Cross centers worldwide, culminating in the delivery of the document to the headquarters of the International Red Cross in Geneva.
