At the invitation of the “Stop Israel” movement, the city of Malmö witnessed a large public demonstration today, Sunday. The gathering started from the main square and then the march proceeded through the city’s streets, raising slogans calling for: stopping the war, freedom for Palestine, freedom for all Palestinian prisoners, prosecuting war criminals including Benjamin Netanyahu, and rebuilding Gaza.
Several Swedish and Arab organizations participated in the demonstration, including: the European Alliance to Support Palestinian Prisoners, “Mothers for Palestine,” “Doctors for Palestine,” the “Palestinian Group,” “Equality,” and “Save the Children of Gaza,” along with other institutions strongly supporting the Palestinian cause.
Several speeches were delivered during the demonstration, including:
A speech by Malcom Momodou, a member of the Swedish Parliament from the Left Party.
A speech by representatives of the Palestinian group.
A speech from the European Alliance to Support Palestinian Prisoners, delivered by activist and daughter of a freed prisoner, Wadd Mousa.
Other speeches emphasized the justice of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of continued popular solidarity and political pressure until the Palestinian people achieve their rights to freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
